Wespine’s new Managing Director Charlie Perkins commenced on 1 July. Charlie replaces Patrick Warrand following his retirement after seven years with the business.
Charlie brings to Wespine extensive experience from a range of industries including finance, chemicals, energy, fertiliser, recycling, metals and transport sectors. He joins most recently from Sims Corporate Development in New York, where he was the Director of Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions. In this role Charlie had a front row seat to observe the changes occurring in the US Steel industry as businesses pursue decarbonisation. Prior to this he was the General Manager at CSBP Fertilisers in Perth from 2013 to 2018, and General Manager of CSBP Chemicals (Ammonia Ammonium Nitrate and Sodium Cyanide) from 2009 to 2013.
Now three months into the job, Charlie has been impressed with what he’s seen at Wespine. “Wespine plays a key role in facilitating the conversion of pine plantations to housing materials. It is an exciting time for Wespine as all economies decarbonise and Wespine can play a role in the transition of building materials to a lower carbon footprint.”
“I’m looking forward to meeting more of you, our customers, and delivering on our promise of being an innovative and reliable supplier of quality products to the Australian market. As a business with unique manufacturing capability, Wespine will continue to focus on product innovation to add value to our partners.”
“I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Patrick’s contribution to Wespine over the past seven years. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to build upon Wespine’s past successes, as we take the business forward”.
